Last weekend I competed for the first time in the WBFF out in Kansas City, Missouri.  I have been competing for about a year now, and have jam-packed 6 competitions into that time period. All of them have been fun, but this last competition was on an entirely different level of FUN! The energy in the air, even at the athlete check-in, was filled with excitement at all times. Everyone was very friendly and we were all laughing and getting to know each other back stage. There were so many amazing physiques walking around, half naked of course, lol, so there was definitely a lot of people watching to do (which I love). Unlike the other competitions I have been a part of, there were different rounds. The costumes in the evening were my favorite. It was so fun to see all these fit bodies dressed up like it was Halloween! And I got to rock my wonder woman costume and have a little fun with my routine on stage. It was a lot more fun than just walking out and posing in a bikini. There was also an evening wear round which was different. Its one thing to see beautiful girls in bikinis, but this was fun because everyone looked so elegant and classy. I think the main reason this competition was so much fun was that it was entertaining. It was like an athletic Victoria Secret fashion show. The pressure was somewhat off, and it was more about having fun and really showing your personality on stage.

 

The competitive side of me always wants to do well, but I try hard not to focus on the # placing that I am awarded and instead on the personal improvements I have made. Its an accomplishment for me just to step on stage knowing I have improved from the last one, but I cant deny that I was so excited to make first call outs for Bikini Diva. And in the evening when the awards were being announced, the fifth place, and fourth place names were called and I was smiling so big knowing I was in the top three at that point! The third place name was called and I couldn't believe it. With a pro card being given to first place, I could feel my heart start racing as the other girl and I grabbed hands waiting to hear who was about to become a Pro Bikini Diva. Although it wasn't me that night, it was an amazing experience to be that close to such as amazing award! I was very very happy.

 

With the awards out of the way, there was only one thing on my mind....Yummy FOOD and WATER!! I chose nachos and a salad this time as my post comp meal. And the next day I had a breakfast buffet, a cookie with my salad at lunch, and then some amazing sushi for my second lunch later that day. So tasty!! It feels so liberating to eat what you want for a day or two after you have been so structured for weeks and weeks. Im back to my clean eating and workouts now, and trying to decide what is in store for me next. Actually, Im really just trying to decide what I will dress up as for the next one, lol!
